How to Set Up Your Night Vision Binoculars

Before using your NightScout binoculars for the first time, complete a few basic setup steps.

How to Use Night Vision During the Day

Digital night vision binoculars can also be used in normal daylight.

  4. Adjust the focus until the image is clear.
  5. Use the zoom function only when additional detail is needed.
  6. Capture a photo or start recording using the corresponding controls.

For the clearest results, avoid pointing the device directly toward the sun or other extremely bright light sources.

How to Use Night Vision After Dark

When natural light is limited, infrared illumination helps the device display nearby and distant subjects.

Step 1: Turn On the Device
Power on the binoculars and allow the screen to load.

Step 2: Activate Infrared Illumination
Turn on the infrared function and begin with a lower infrared level.

Step 3: Adjust the Infrared Level
Increase the infrared level gradually until the subject becomes visible. Higher levels may help in complete darkness or when viewing farther away.

Refocus whenever the distance between you and the subject changes.

Step 5: Stabilize the Device
Hold the binoculars with both hands or place them on a tripod for longer viewing and steadier recording.

Use photo or video mode to capture wildlife, campsite activity, or other nighttime scenes.

How to Choose the Right Infrared Level

Infrared brightness should be adjusted based on distance, darkness, and surrounding conditions.

There is some natural light available
The image appears too bright
You want to reduce battery use

How to Set Up Your Golf Rangefinder

Fully charge the rangefinder.

Select yards or meters.

How to Measure Distance to the Flag

How to Use Flag-Lock Mode

Flag-lock mode helps identify the flagstick when trees, carts, buildings, or other objects are positioned behind it.
  • Activate the target or flag-lock mode.
  • Aim near the flag.
  • Move the aiming point slowly across the flagstick.
  • Wait for vibration or visual confirmation.
  • Review the displayed distance.

For the best result, keep your movement slow and the device as steady as possible.
